When I was just four years old, my family relocated to Viseu in central Portugal. Although we eventually moved back to Brazil, the country never truly left my heart. My father remained in Portugal which meant I was constantly flying back for short visits, and I never lost my tie to this beautiful land.

In 2018, the pull became permanent. I moved back to Portugal, to the University of the Lisbon to pursue a degree in English and French Language and Culture, and fell in love with the country all over again.

Having worked within the local hospitality scene, I’ve developed a deep, firsthand understanding of Portuguese culture, hospitality, and daily life. We Travel Portugal is where I channel that insider knowledge into practical guides, hidden-gem recommendations, and cultural insights. I’ll help you discover Portugal, like a local.

As a writer, my goal is to help you fall in love with Portugal the way I have. Whether you’re planning your very first trip, looking for local Lisbon secrets, or trying to track down that perfect restaurant you saw online, consider We Travel Portugal your ultimate insider guide.

Email: ana@wetravelportugal.com

Ollie Richards – Travel Writer and Photographer

Originally from England, my connection to Portugal began in the south, where I worked as a researcher at the University of the Algarve. While studying the region’s marine biology and stunning coastal ecosystems, my “office” consisted of the lagoons, hidden beaches, and historic port towns of the Algarve.

It didn’t take long before I decided I wanted to stay in Portugal permanently. Fisherman’s tales, shacks by the sea, seafood lunches, it all sounds cliché, but while studying marine biology and the coast I really managed to get under the skin of many of the coastal villages and port towns of the Algarve.

Today, I live in Lisbon, trading the field research for photography and travel writing.

What’s We Travel Portugal all About?

Exploring Portugal, deeply, ethically, and sustainably.
